Welcome to Kidz Galore

Nursery UWA

Welcome to Kidz Galore Early Learning at UWA, where your child’s learning journey begins.

Our UWA early learning centre is rated exceeding in all quality areas under the NQS – the highest form of rating under our assessment and rating process here in Perth, and we are only in the company of a small number of services across the whole of WA to achieve this.

This year, Kidz Galore celebrated 30 years of providing exceptional early childhood education and care to Perth families. As a family business, Kidz Galore manages to maintain the personal touch, which is of utmost importance when caring and educating children.

A Place Where Children Thrive

From the very beginning, Sue’s approach at Kidz Galore has been about creating a strong sense of belonging for every child. As a family-oriented early learning service, this foundation allows children to grow emotionally, socially, physically and cognitively. It’s a belief that’s reflected across all our spaces, but particularly in our Nursery Room on the UWA campus. Designed for children aged 0 to 12 months, the room offers a safe and supportive environment where babies are encouraged to explore, learn and develop at their own pace.

We know how important it is for every child to feel secure and supported as they begin their learning journey. That’s why our early childhood program is built on strong relationships and consistent care. With long-term educators and registered teachers in each room, we provide continuity and a high standard of learning for every child. It’s this combination of experience, trust and quality that helps lay the foundations for lifelong learning.

Learning That Grows With Your Child

At Kidz Galore, we offer a comprehensive education and care program tailored to each child’s individual needs. Our play-based, child-led approach encourages curiosity, creativity, and exploration in a safe and nurturing environment where children grow at their own pace.

Our educators focus on building strong relationships and respond to each child’s interests and developmental stages. Kidz Galore follows the National Quality Standard, delivering the highest level of care and education in early childhood across Western Australia.

A Nurturing Start

We support children aged 0–12 months with a program that promotes confidence, wellbeing and a love of learning. This foundational approach helps children develop essential life skills in their earliest years, setting them up for long-term success.

Our UWA centre is rated as Exceeding in all seven quality areas of the National Quality Standard. This is reflected in the high-quality, intentional programs delivered from the Nursery Room through to our preschool rooms.

Supporting Literacy With THRASS

Kidz Galore has a long-standing partnership with Denyse Ritchie from the THRASS Institute. THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling Skills) is embedded across all services and age groups, boosting oral language development from birth.

Our educators and teachers receive regular training through the THRASS Institute, and families are invited to connect with Denyse to learn how to support literacy at home. This shared approach helps children build strong communication skills from the start.

Building Confident Movers With KIDDO

We’re proud to deliver the KIDDO program, developed by researchers at The University of Western Australia. KIDDO helps children build physical literacy through fun, engaging movement activities that promote coordination, confidence, and a lifelong love of being active.

Kidz Galore @ UWA was recently awarded an Exemplar Award for its outstanding work in children’s physical development.

Embracing Digital Innovation

Through our collaboration with Curtin University, we developed a sector-leading Digital Technology Policy that enhances learning while keeping children safe. Educators, families, and children work together to build healthy, informed digital habits from an early age.

Connecting With Community

Children at Kidz Galore @ UWA regularly explore the university campus and wider community. These excursions often create opportunities to engage with family members working in academia, strengthening our connection with the families we support.

A Holistic, Forward-Thinking Approach

Every initiative at Kidz Galore reflects our commitment to a well-rounded, future-focused education. From literacy and movement to digital skills and community engagement, we prepare children for a balanced, confident start in life.

Pricing, Fees, and Support

Kidz Galore is committed to providing a high-quality early learning experience in a nurturing, child-led environment while keeping education and care accessible for families. Our fees are structured to reflect the quality of our programs, including our play-based learning approach, highly trained educators, and safe, engaging facilities.

Families may be eligible for financial assistance through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS). We encourage parents and caregivers to check their eligibility and complete the simple application process, which can significantly reduce out-of-pocket costs. Our team is available to provide guidance and support with understanding and accessing the subsidy.

For detailed information on fees, session availability, and financial support options, families are encouraged to visit our website. At Kidz Galore, we aim to make early learning both affordable and supportive, ensuring every child can thrive in a caring and stimulating environment.

Simple Enrolment and Eligibility for UWA’s Nursery Room

Enrolling your child at UWA’s Nursery Room is easy and straightforward. It begins with a simple inquiry, followed by a tour of our facilities where you can meet the team and explore the nurturing environment your child will be part of.

Families are encouraged to check their eligibility for the Child Care Subsidy, which can significantly reduce fees for those who qualify. Enrolment forms are available online, and our team is happy to guide you through each step of the process.

Key intake periods occur in January and July. We recommend applying early to secure your child’s place.

A Strong Start for a Brighter Future

At UWA, our nursery room offers more than early education, it’s a supportive partnership that nurtures your child’s development. From enrolment to orientation and beyond, our experienced educators work closely with families to ensure each child is settled, supported and thriving.

Our program builds more than academic readiness. We focus on emotional resilience, social connection, and instilling a lifelong love of learning. Our approach is guided by current research and local data, ensuring our teaching remains relevant and impactful.

For instance, our literacy program, THRASS, is designed in response to findings that digital habits are impacting children’s fine motor skills. By strengthening handwriting and language development, we help children stay ahead of this trend. Similarly, our KIDDO program was introduced following AEDC data that highlighted a national decline in children’s physical literacy.

A Connected Learning Community

The UWA Early Learning Service offers more than classroom learning, we provide a welcoming community for families. Parents are regularly invited to be part of their child’s learning journey through family engagement and education sessions.

We host information evenings led by experts such as Denyse Ritchie from the THRASS Institute and Julia Andrews from the KIDDO program, giving families insight into how these initiatives directly benefit their child’s development.
